Frequently Asked Questions

How is a resident’s level of care determined?

We determine the level of care for each resident through an individualized assessment. Using those results, we create a personalized service plan customized to every resident’s needs and preferences.

What happens if the resident’s care needs change?

Our clinical programming and administrative teams collaborate regularly to discuss a multi-discipline approach – ensuring we find the best solution for each resident and their family.

How often do you communicate with resident families?

We meet everyone where they are, meaning what works best for you will work for us. We provide open and transparent communication at a frequency that benefits each resident and their family.

Can residents have pets?

Yes! We are a pet-friendly community. If residents are able to care for their pets, they are welcome. Please talk to the team at your local community for any additional guidelines.

Can you help if my loved one has fallen in the past?

We can absolutely help. Ciel has a Comprehensive Fall Prevention Program. Risk factors and previous falls are intertwined with each resident’s care needs. We also have partnerships with physical and occupational therapy providers who deliver services at each community for those who need them.

Can you provide a doctor?

We have the convenience of in-house physician services that offer care via a third-party provider. We also embrace our residents’ choice to retain their independent community physicians when they are living in our communities.

What training do Ciel team members receive?

Our team receives robust and comprehensive training upon hire, annually, and as needed at all levels and departments. Our training is ongoing and ever-evolving based on the needs of our residents.

Can Independent Living residents also receive care?

We can care for most independent residents who need no supportive services, those who may need some help, or those who have bigger needs and require complicated clinical support. If you are an independent living resident, we can provide third-party supported services if necessary, and those can shift as needs may change.

Does each community offer respite care?

Yes, each community offers respite care depending on availability. Please contact your local community for more information.

Does every community offer three meals a day?

Three meals a day are provided for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents. For those in Independent Living, restaurant-style dining options are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
